This property is centered right in the heart of all the action on the boardwalk. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. We expected a room in the Clarige ( they are great also but on the small side)..but no rooms were ready so we were upgraded to a room in the Tower..AWesome!....Huge room....and an exceptionally large bathroom with a picture window!... walk in shower!...and a bath. Want to go back already, and just got home 3 days ago!... Wild Wild West is a themed property with the Viginia City Buffet....delicious food...steak grilled to order!Caesar's and the Shops( three floors of them) is also connected with interior walkways.

We stayed at the Claridge Tower. Lovely ocean view but small window. The staff upgraded us for free to an ocean view, upon our request at check in. Don't be afraid to ask! The view isn't spectacular but it is lovely. It's an old building, what can we expect?

The spa for the Claridge is free for guests and located on the 6th floor. BUT From our hotel window we saw a rooftop lounge and had the WORST time trying to figure out were it was. We weren't informed on check in about that lounge. Employees were not sure what we were talking about when we inquired. The front desk told us it was first, not accessible, and the second time told us it was on the fourth floor. I wandered around for an hour just asking random employees. Finally a hostess of a diner on the 6th floor of the Tower, knew it was the spa deck on the eighth floor of the main Bally's hotel. O brother. So after finally finding it, we weren't very impressed. In order to just sit on the roof top deck, you have to pay a 10 dollar fee for use of the spa. The spa in the Claridge is free but the main Bally's hotel is ten dollars a guest per day. WHAT? Its not like I requested to stay in the Claridge, I was assigned a room there and now am being penalized? Well we paid it, so what right? The pool bar was antiquated, the deck had NO VIEW at all, and the pool was so small. To its credit it had 7 whirlpools and only one was broken! Well the scene was very 1980's if you like that retro club atmosphere for ten dollars a day. We weren't very happy with not seeing anything from the roof except sky. You literally cannot see the ocean unless you stand.

MUST STAY AWAY from The Sammy Haggar Beach bar (bikini beach bar) that is associated with this hotel. It is AWFUL. You think you're getting a good deal when you see their special drinks for 5 bucks, but then they serve your drinks in small cups. NO not the 16 oz cups, the 8 oz cups half full of ice. RIP OFF. The menus boast snacks that are more than disappointing. They're on a menu, so you think you're getting food that doesn't come from a snack stand. Not so. Why a menu then? Nachos for 9 bucks was a styrofoam container of chips and side 3 oz containers of salsa and cheezy spread. REALLY?

The dining inside the hotel:limited choices, overpriced. The bagel/ coffee shop outside the Ridge has really overpriced, watered down coffee and employees that will serve whoever butts in line instead of paying attention to who was in line waiting, and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. COME ON! The room coffee is better, ask your house keeper for extra, they don't mind giving extras, it's free and you don't have to wait in line.

Staff was very accomodating. We requested a late check out, and they gave several hours past the check out time. That was really great, without any extra fee. Of course you may need to ask different employees for this accomodation. IT's worth the trouble if you want to shower before you leave, if you're a beach goer. We kept getting the time pushed back but had to keep calling. It was worth it for us.

The Location was excellent as far as midtown goes, very close to beach access, The Pier Shops and the casinos owned by Bally's (Harrahs) are plentiful. If you want to walk about a mile north you can hit Hard Rock Cafe, much better pricing for what you get.

Ok the bathroom: The shower curtain was so full of mildew. EWE. THat was pretty gross. The bath tub is not pluggable if you want to take a bath, or have kids to bath. It's small as well but again it's an old building. Showers only even though you stand in the tub. The pressure was decent for shower but drain was slow, so you're standing in your dirt...probably sand related, but beach hotels should kind of know how to handle sand in their pipes. Sometimes you will need to double flush even when there's hardly anything in there to flush.

I'd say it was mostly good, some bad features, an ugly shower curtain, but you get what you pay for...unless you ask for a little more, and they try. They really do try, and I thought the Claridge was a prettier building and view then the main building.

We stood in a 45 minute line to check in on a Thursday night. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it smelled like smoke. They never offered to change it! THEN we stood in line for 30 minutes at the Total Rewads kiosk. They sent us to the cashier to redeem our promotion, which was another 30 minute line.

On Sunday, we had tickets to see Cirque du Soliel at Boardwalk Hall. We left our room 45 minutes before the show was supposed to start and wound up waiting for an elevator for 45 minutes! We missed the first 15 minutes of our show.

The hotel staff is very unfriendly all around. From the people a total rewards to the bellman and the front desk.. they are just unfriendly - because they are overworked! There are too many people and they are unwilling to make you a priority.

It was so frustrating, that I have made an effort to contact the regional sales and customer teams of the hotel to make them aware of this problem.

The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the Wild West Casino. If you like table games, it's perfect. Its small enough so that it doesnt get overly crowded. The dealers at the craps table aren't the best, but it's still a fun atmosphere.

We had dinner at Caesar's and walked around the hotel for a little bit and from the little time we were there, it was a huge step up on Bally's. We also went to Harrah's and it was a much better experience.

BEWARE OF BALLYS!!

Despite some problems with very obnoxious floor-mates and the water being turned off for 18 hours, I'd recommend this hotel. The beds were fantistic; the room was beautiful; the view was amazing. I was in the Claridge Tower - 19th floor. The bus station is a very short walk and there are great places to eat off the board walk. The bagel place was open late and Wings to Go in the casino took care of the late night cravings.

Couldn't find someone to help with the luggage but the staff on our floor were great. Would have been nice to have a walking map of the city available. Didn't know about the multiple pool options until we'd been there two days. Basically, the hotel information booklet needs to be updated.

We have gone to AC every year for the past 8 years for the NJEA Teachers Convention and we always stayed at the Tropicana and have NEVER had such a horrible room (for a cheaper rate as well). Last year, for example, we were in a two room suite for $49 a night. We decided to try a different hotel out of curiosity. When we arrived we were told that we had reservations for THREE rooms (which was totally erroneous according to my confirmation which was for only one room). We straightened that out and were given a room in the Claridge Tower. The room was TERRIBLE. First, the window was filthy, and the view was HORRIBLE. The carpeting was covered with stains and cigarette burns. We immediately closed the drapes to avoid the window of disgust. I immediately called the front desk to switch rooms. They said nothing was available until morning. Then I opened the armoire and the TV screen was COATED WITH DUST. I cleaned that myself and called the desk again. Then my friend went into bed and there was a Q-tip IN THE BED!!!! That was disgusting. It looked like the sheets had not been changed!!! I called the desk again. They sent housekeeping to change the sheets. Then my friend went to brush her teeth and the water would not go down the drain. I called the desk again. They sent maintenance. He got the water down but said we needed a plumber. Assuming the plumber would come in the morning, we went to bed. Lo and behold, the plumber knocked on the door and WOKE US UP at MIDNIGHT, but he did fix the sink. The next day we were moved to another room in the Garden Tower which I have to say was extremely nice and comfortable, but understand that this was a very big inconvenience to be down at the desk at 6:30 in the morning, pack up all our things and move. We barely made it to our conference. The supervisor gave us a voucher toward dinner; however, it was only for $40.00 which would not even cover ONE dinner in their restaurants. I feel we should have been given a credit for one night's stay PLUS a voucher for a FREE (totally free) dinner of our choice. I kept stressing to the management that this was our FIRST time in this hotel, and I would like to think that they would go out of their way to accommodate us so that we would enjoy our stay and want to come back. Instead, IN ONE NIGHT we had four members of their staff in our room: bellhop, housekeeper, maintenance man and plumber. This is TOTALLY unacceptable. We only go to AC once a year, and we look forward to a relaxing, comfortable and pleasant experience. As it is, we were so disappointed with the initial accommodations AND THE SERVICE that we do not plan to go back to this Bally's EVER AGAIN, unless they are willing to offer some substantial additional compensation for our horrible experience. I do not feel that they went out of their way to make up for the unacceptable accommodations, and I WILL WRITE A LETTER to Bally's.

The housekeeping staff was very friendly and accomodating. It was very nice to have the option to play at four different casinos while earning comps. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. It was also close to shopping (outlets and reatail) and a variety of restaurants.

Very disappointing stay. Check-in was a disaster - much more effecient at Mohegan Sun in CT. Bally's may want to visit them and take notes. Got a "classic room." Stuck in the old Claridge - though they claim you are at Bally's. Should have been called something other than classic - no better than any economical (cheap) motel. Restaurant choices were limited - many were closed. Food was good, but for the price, the service was fair at best. For a future stay, I would choose Trump Plaza or Ceasar if I wanted mid-boardwalk location.

we enjoyed our stay there , good slotsmachines with a large varity. there were enough cocktail waitresses for those free drinks. We especially liked the fact that they offered direct access to an adjoining casino on the boardwalk, This place seemed the best of 6 casinos we visited.

Can't complain about the price of the room except for the fact that prior to Harrah's ownership we received FREE rooms 2 or 3 times a year. Also the comps are terrible now. Also, special lines for Diamonds makes me feel like second class citizens there. I used to visit 3 times a year with free rooms and comps for meals. Buffets have tripled in price. Room was not a clean as I would like. We were not given washcloths until our third day. One of the elevators would not go up during our entire 4 night, 5 day stay. You would think that it would have better maintenance. It was a get-a-way for our 40th Anniversary. Well, we got away but it was not the greatest place to celebrate but you get what you pay for.
