I Stayed On: September 5, 2008    I stayed here because: price & location
Would I recommend it? Most Likely    My visit was for: Romantic Getaway    My Age is: 25 – 34

For the price, the Resorts room was great. It was cheap, quiet, and a great, convenient location right on the boardwalk. Our room had an ocean and boardwalk view, and the staff at the front counter was very friendly. They made sure they gave us a room that was ocean-front thanks to the special note I entered at the time of booking online through AChotelexperts.com. However, the room was a bit behind the times as was the casino. Bathroom needed updated badly! The rest of the room wasn't too bad...but the blue tiles all over the bath (including the ceiling) made us feel like we just stepped back into 1985! Okay for a quick, one-nite getaway. :)

We receive comp rooms from Resorts even though we do not spend thousands of dollars at the Casino. Our stay was for four days. We had four people in the room . Me my wife and my two daughters. The staff was willing to accomadate are need for additional items such as refrigerator for my wife's medication, towels, shower caps etc. Room and casino were clean.

Would I recommend it? Most Likely    My visit was for: Leisure    My Age is: 35 - 49

Front desk staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our reservation was somehow keyed in incorrectly and we were scheduled to be there a month earlier. Problem was resolved after a long phone call. Front desk guy gave us a big corner room on the 8th floor...windows on 2 walls and a great view. Problem was the valet guys blew car horns and whistles all night long. We were awakened throughout the night (lost track of how many times) by the noise. This went on through the entire night on both nights of our stay. Carpets were worn and stained, bathroom was small (nowhere to set your toilettries), no hair dryer, no safe, no coffee maker. Bed was comfortable and clean for me but my husband thought it was a little hard. House keeping stocked the room with 1 towel; no washclothes or hand towels, but they quickly brought more when I called. We ate at Gallagher's for dinner and the food was very good. We went to Boogie Nights (night club) and it was fun. Check out was quick and easy. Most of the hotel and casino staff were friendly. I would recommend this hotel for the location but stay at a more expensive one if you've got plenty of money.

We went to A.C. for a quick one night stay to see the Four Tops at the Hilton and didn't want to go broke paying for a Friday night. We got an incredible deal of $99 for a Friday! The room we had was huge! It was at one time two large king rooms and the wall had been taken down which converted it into one very large room. We had two closets and two bathrooms. (If you need a gigantic room ask for 1041 in the ocean tower) Very dated but no complaints here. We have going to A.C for about 15 years now and we've stayed everywhere. For a cheap room, we got a hairdryer, cable TV and refrigerator. I have been to expensive rooms where there isnt even a fridge. Well worth it. The casino floor has everything you need without the boisterous crowds. Gallaghers Steak House was very nice. Food was great - service and ambiance excellent - but it was pricey. All in all we had a great stay and would be happy to come again.

The hotel is not as modern as others on the boardwalk. The room is large and spacious, but the mattress was very old and uncomfortable. The buffet and some of the restaurants are not open on Monday or Tuesday.

Our stay started badly at check-in. They were really under staffed. They had three people there to help the 50 or so people in line to check in. Our room was not ready at the appointed time. We had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready-after it took us almost an hour just to make it to the desk/staff. Then we had to wait in line again to see if our room was ready--I think they should have called me to let me know it was finally ready. A customer was ranting at the front desk. The staff allowed her to yell and scream and I think they should have taken her to the side and allowed her to speak to a manager. Many of us in line were ready to find a new place at that point. The room was clean, however the room we had did not have a view at all. We looked out at the roof top of the adjoining building. Not a pretty sight! We had to call down to for coffee-no coffee pot in the room. The bed was clean but it was stiff. The hotel does offer a lot of clubs and dinning choices but you have to be "elite" to get in most of them. It limits the available choices by 1/2. The price was too high for what you get and don't get. If there were no other plces to stay on the boardwalk I would recommend this place. Otherwise-find a different hotel.

All in all, the service and accomodations were outstanding. I would have liked better communication in regards to breakfast schedules in restaurant. I also think Resorts and the other hotels would fare better in customer satisfaction if services such as accomodations for elderly and handicapped were available at check in.

We had no problems checking in or out. Service was pleasant and relatively quick, at front desk, with bell captain and housekeeping. The Rendez-Vous Tower is newer so boasts nice rooms. Walking through the Ocean Tower while going to the pool, it was apparent that this tower needed some major renovation. Restaurants were nice - buffet is okay. Bartenders and dealers were all very friendly. Could use a few more blackjack tables - especially single deck.
