This was our second stay. We found the hotel very much
improved. The front desk was VG. The service was VG.
I would not rate it 4* but it was good for the money.
Rooms were adequate, shops were great, casino was VG.
It is on the quiet side of the board walk.

The tropicana is a bright casino with a diversified shopping and eating area and a wide variety of games. If you are looking for a place to stay that is high quality but less pricy than the borgata, the Tropicana is the place for you. You can sit down to eat at P.F. Changs (west coast oriental cuisine) and Carmines (family style dining), or you can get a quick bite from their 24 hour convenient store. The poker room allows 24 hour texas hold-em and short waits to get on popular tables

First room in Havana Tower had old musky motel feel to it. Don't get away much & wanted more than a motel stay, so requested a new room and placed in North Tower. Better feel & big, comfortable bed, but still outdated bathroom, peeling wallpaper, and did not get the fabulous oceanview promised in package. Although a bit confusing getting around at first, we enjoyed the Marketplace, the Quarter, and fun at the endless slots (sure I'll have better luck next time). Great meals at Corky's BBQ and the Fiesta Buffet. Except for a mean cashier in casino, the hotel staff from valets, hotel front desk, to maid service were helpful and friendly. For a two night stay with complimentary show tickets and full buffet for two, $158 value not bad.

TROPICANA STAY, May 29, 2008

The location on the boardwalk is great for visiting the beach, other casinos or just taking a walk.

We love staying at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino for several reasons. The location of the hotel on the boardwalk is perfect for going to the beach. It is also perfect for taking easy relaxing walks on the boards to the other nearby boardwalk casinos (Hilton, Bally's, Trump, etc). The walking can all be done on foot versus trying to catch a costly cab. The Havana is wonderful for food, shopping and fun. We have tried every restaurant in the Havana and by far our most favorite is the RED Square. The initimate dining there is beyond romantic. Here you are placed in your own dining booth surrounded by low lights, music and curtains for privacy. The food is fabulous and well worth a visit. Our only cons are with the forever internal remodeling. The floor is always in disarray with the re-modeling and each visit there seems to be no progress. It is a nuisance. Also, the removal of penny heaven was a surekill. That was the best area to which just to hang out and play slots.

The Trop is AC's biggest, best mega casino/hotel.resort. The Quarter is an adventure all to itself with lots of food choices, a party atmosphere, and entertainment choices that run from IMAX, karaoke, bars, comedy shows, and a seemingly a never ending parade of people watching. The Trop has one of the largest, cleanest, and friendliest poker rooms in AC. It's great for always being able to find a friendly game with personable dealers and even a massage while you play. The hotel is huge and I've stayed there many times in all 4 towers. The Trop is my first choice when staying in AC.Havana Tower - newest, but furthest away from the Casino action. Some of the corner rooms are HUGE and have a great inland view of AC.North Tower - closest to the main casino, a good valueSouth Tower - stay in the South Tower if you spend much time in the gym or on the beachWest Tower - I don't recommend the West Tower. The rooms are OK, but depending on what you want to do, the other towers offer a better location and more updated accomodations.

the best thing about this casino is the quarter. The rooms are comfortable but just average. The casino floor is confusing. Overall not a bad place to stay. Excellent Buffet and good restaurants and shopping. I would stay here again,

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in February of 2008. We stayed here 1 night last year also. We love the Tropicana because the place is so clean, the rooms are wonderful and the staff is very friendly. The price is also the cheapest in Atlantic City and there is so much to do. The restaurants are also great. We hope to visit again soon and will always stay at the Tropicana. Best value and the cleanest rooms. We just love this place.

The trop is a great place to play cards. They have 3-6 limit now which is a nice step forward as long as you have enough people interested to play. Their 7:15pm tournaments are a little steep with a one-hundred dollar buy in and a one-hundred dollar add on which I particularly never cared for, but still some good action in the ring games. If you order a beer you'll think that your at a keg party because it comes in a plastic cup. Go to the showboat or Borgata if you want a bottle.
