We checked in our room and when we got into the room, there was an open bag of goldfish sitting on the table. The room had no visitor books, coffee machine didn't work and was very bare. Also, there was no "do not disturb" sign and housekeeping woke us up in the AM. We got a really good deal on the room so we weren't too upset about the room. The Tropicana in general is good. We liked the shopping and restaurants the most.

We arrived at the hotel on Sunday at 1pm, and waited in line for about 45 mins to check-in, and were told to come back at 3pm to see if our room was ready. We thought that our wait in line to check-in was bad, but we were lucky - by the time we were done checking in, the line was at least 10 times as long. Certainly the wait had to be over 2 hours at this stage, and there were only 2 people working at the reception. I would never stay in this hotel again, for fear of having to wait that long to check in. What a terrible way to have to start your vacation! The check-in, and wait to get to your room takes up a huge chunk of your day. This is not acceptable! They really need to get their act together. Also, many of the staff we encountered on our stay were not helpful or friendly in the least (with the exception of the very nice lady who checked us in). In short, if the hotel was better managed, it would be a great place to stay. Lots to do on site & a great location.

Worst experience of my life!!! Arrived at 11pm and attempted to check in . Was told to come back and could check in at 2pm. Waiting on line from 2-3 and was told to come back to wait for room key after 4:30pm. Waiting on key line from 4:30 - 5:30 pm and finally got to room about 6pm!!!!! I have travelled to many different places around the world and have nevere waited more than 15 minutes to check in anywhere. I certainly never checked in for 6pm, which by the way is on their website for their Sunday check-ins. Whoever heard of a hotel check in for 6pm!!!
Seaside Cafe was a terrible experience as well. Waiter finally took our order for drinks and then forgot to bring them. He came back 15 minutes later and asked us what we wanted to drink again. It also took 45 minutes to get our simple order of pancakes. We got our drinks with the pancakes! This rude waiter never apologized and even though we thanked him for everything he brought us, he never responded with a "your welcome". When we finally got our bill he was sure to take his time checking to see if we left him a tip!
I would never stay at this hotel again. Do yourself a favor and book another hotel and save yourself from total disappointment.

I have never been so disgusted by the service that I recieved in a hotel/casino. The front desk was rude. The staff was rude. There was nothing positive about my experience. I've been to Atlantic City on at least 7 separate occassions and this was my third time staying at the Tropicana. I'm not sure what happened in the last year and a half but last december this was the place to be. I can honestly say that I will never consider Tropicana as a place to stay in Atlantic City and I will be sure to spread the word out to everyone that I know. This is my first time writing an online review. That's how upset I am by how I was treated.

it was justa quick stay booked room for 120.00 the night before, parrived after 6:00pm Played poker from 7:30-10:00 went to bar had a few beers went to craps table till 1Pm hit the rack
up and out by 8:30. Place was exciting and would go again.

Overall it was very nice. But the Tropicana is too good to have a raggedy elevator. We had to wait for 30 minutes to get off of our floor one time, and we told by staff we could walk--39 floors, I don't think so.

Not bad for the price, just okay, we had a great time at the pool and the beach. They just need to improve their elevators and organize room amenities for customer satisfaction. We love shopping at the hotel and the casino was good. More shows and activities for kids please.

this hotel is in need of alot of work rooms were dirty and the elevators in the west tower never came waited 30 minutes one day for elevator, if it had not been 49th floor I would have taken the stairs. No info in room about the property. Even cockroaches!!!

Upon check in we never received a directory of what was available at this casino/hotel....The room was very dirty, the drapes were all soiled, the room smelled bad of smoke even though we were on a non-smoking floor. The elevators were a whole other issue, 20 minute wait and elevator still wasn't to our 32nd floor. The indoor pool was very dirty looking so we didn't use it.
On the upside, we ate at the sports bar for lunch which was excellent as was our dinner at Carmine's. Thank goodness for the restaurants...and the shops area!!! I would recommend this hotel based upon the choice of restaurants and shops, and the imax theatre.
