Avoid Havana Tower Room 6530 At All Cost, September 20, 2009

We arrived for a 3pm check-in at 2pm. We were told that this was okay as check-in had already started. After a very long line we received our room assignment but were told we could not get the room key until 5:45pm. Now 3pm we had a 2 hour 45 minute wait with heavy bags. Nothing to do but go into the casino. Hours into playing slots a security person asked why we did not put the bags in the holding room. No one remembered to mention that we could. If we had a shopping cart we would have looked homeless. Finally time to go to the room. Check in slip listed West Tower. No such room number as ours. Took some time to find out that our ROOM key was for the Havana Towers. Never once got into our room without security assistance. The room key pass never worked even though they reissued a new one 5 times. Requested a lock smith who NEVER came. Requested a room change but I had a smoking room & the hotel only has a total of 10 of them.
It is fun to play at Tropicana but if you plan to stay overnight & cannot get into your room what is the point

We used to stay at the Trop all the time, it was always beautiful and alive with energy....the energy has died. Some employees told us that they laid off so many people and all the quality has gone down. Our room was unlivable and whe I complained about the feces stain on the bed they told me I had to pay for an upgrade!!! When the maid came in she put the new bedding on the floor while she got something else from her cart....bathroom stall in the casino had a peephole, luckily my friend was next to me!!! I was disappointed and disgusted!!! Never got my free breakfast i paid for either!!!

when we want to go away and not take a plane, the trop is just right. we can play,eat,dance,gamble and never leave the hotel. the atmosphere is happy and just makes you wecome with the soul of another country. you don't need a passport to be transported. the fact theat we are always lucky at the trop is a great plus. the rooms the service and yes the cigar store , all make it our favoite hotel in atlantic city. we are planning another trip soon. can't wait.

I arrived there on a Wednesday night around 8:30pm and the Quarter Inn check in was closed, so me and my my lady had to walk far across to the south tower for check in. Then when we were given a room, it was in the south tower but they only gave us a smoking room 2 double beds when we asked for 1 king size bed smoking. We called the front and no one picked up. Finally I decided to call the hotel service manager and he was extremely kind and accomodating.
We were given a havana tower 1 king size room smoking and it was on the top floor which was amazing!!!!
So it started off pretty bad but turned out great. Tango's was nice and the casino was pretty crowded for a Wed night. It took forever to find a waitress, I think they all were on strike or something.. Carmine's was beautiful!! you have got to go there and also check out the shops, they're really nice and when you check in,they give you a discount book which has great coupons.

It was pleasant styin there and well worth the money for LDW! Ill def go back! Oh and we woke up late and they were nice enough to let us take showers and get out without being charged! hows that for service?

I really enjoyed my experience at the Tropicana. It was in a convenient location that allowed people to walk from one casino to the other. There were plenty of activities to choose from in the hotel itself. It is a place for people to go who both like and do not like to gamble. While some of my friends were playing at the tables, I could walk around to the different slot machines. Also, if a person is not big into gambling, they could walk around the promenade and look at the different shops or stop by and have a cocktail at one of the many bars to choose from. In addition to the wide variety of restaurants and bars, it had some dance clubs available for those who enjoy that kind of environment. Overall, I liked how the Tropicana could suit a wide variety of people with all they have to offer.

Have stayed here several times this past year and will continue to go back. Re: other reviews, I have always gotten into room by 3 pm at latest and there have always been 6 or more folks working check in desk. We get comp room depending on day of week or minimal price in North tower ($79) or this last stay used this website and got $71 incl 2 coffees/2 pastries from Starbucks. Beds are new & comfortable with enough pillows and have had great ocean views at times. Rooms always very clean. I only play the slots & machines and my husband goes to horse race book room and we get comped rooms with coupons for discounts off meals and shops, free show tickets without spending alot. Shows are pretty good, not Vegas caliber, but good quality. Enjoyed the Beatles Yesterday show- would highly recommend it. We love to walk/bike on the boardwalk so enjoy the Trops location. Great restaurants such as Carmine's (from NYC), the BBQ restaurant is also very good and not expensive. Had a great $5.99 breakfast there this past visit. We just ate at their seafood buffet last visit and the food was very good- my husband states best crab legs he's ever had, and he's had many... Their new "havana" wing has nice clubs, shops and restaurants, enjoyable to walk and browse through with look of old Havana streets.
Have stayed at Borgata and while nice, not much difference regarding rooms, beds, etc. and not worth the extra $$.
We have never had a bad experience at the Tropicana. Staff is always helpful , rooms always clean, food always good. Will continue to go there.

My husband and I were very happy staying at the Tropicana. The rooms were wonderful, the hotel itself was enjoyable to walk around, the pools were nice, and the staff was wonderful. We even at drinks and an appetizer at the Top of the Trop, which was very good. I would definitely go back. You can't beat the price.

When ever I am in Atlantic City, I alway stay at Tropicana. Everyone is just so friendly there. There service is excellent and I always win in Tropicana. The rooms in Tropicana are very beautiful and checking in was very fast and easy. The restaurants in Tropicana are amaizing. My wife and I always have a blast there. I can't wait to go back. Tropicana is highly recommended to everyone!!
