for $100 a night in mid august wasnt bad. i went up for 2 days spent $300 i signed up for one of those reward cards looked at it online today and i have 4 free nights!!! the room was legit i really didnt spend alot of time in there. the bartenders at the hob bar were awesome kept the drinks flowing and had some cool conversations oh yeah the music in the casino is awesome alot of good tunes. the bad is there is not alot of younger people it was a more of a 50+ year old crowd also there was a decent amount of familes which is fine kind of chill. oh yeah and the 2 young teenagers walking around trying to get lucky s.m.h... one last con would be is there is a concert hall why not have a show or local band there? but overall not too shabby ill be back again

I can imagine what this place looked like when it first opened....but those days are long gone. After my stay in the Orleans Tower, I was left with a few lasting impressions: 1. The hallway rugs were awfull....full of stains from an unknown origin. 2. The elevators...some of them worked sometimes, and when they did, hope it lands on your floor. 3. The room.....two old armchairs circa 1992, beside a table with chips taken out, the same with the nightstand. Stains on the rug, lights that did not work, holes in the bed sheets. The only part of the room that seemed livable was the bathroom. I did like the size of the casino....after taking a walk thru Harrah's, SB is much more cozy. This was my third stay in AC....1st at the Trop, 2nd at Resorts, and now SB.....all the casino's show their age painfully, of course, unless you're willing to shell out huge dollars for a renovated section, the rest of us have to tollarate sub-par conditions. In all three stays, the room rate was reasonable....I guess you get what you pay for. I would stay at SB again, but only if it's not a penny more than what I paid.

The hotel room was very clean,i was even asked what floor i would like to be on.The clerk at the time was very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was blocks away from downtown Atlantic City. The weather that week was just nice. I rate this hotel very good.

we were very disappointment with the lack of maintance for the overall casino/hotel. the rooms were very clean and nice. the rest of the casino/hotel was shabby to say the least. the hotel didnt offer eneough resturants to eat in. the best part of our stay was the room itself. the lobby was leaking and they had buckets with rags on the floor to catch the water that was coming in from either the ceiling or the windows ~ this was on the second floor as soon as you come up on the escalator to what seemed to be their only dining area. the end were the hard rock cafe was - was dark - empty and full of homeless people. would not stay here again.

Definitely not a bad hotel. With all the competition in AC, it's a fair bet to suggest most hotels will be up to the mark. I just feel you can get more value from other places - Chelsea was my first choice in a similar price range - rooms look more comfortable, but lacks a casino. Beds are hard. Crowd is old. Buffet was a treat. Overall an enjoyable experience but more suited to those that are 35-45+

Showboat consistently provides my wife and me with an enjoyable experience each time we visit. We typically stay at the Hotel for two nights and three days (most recently, October 25-27, 2009). The demeanor of the hotel staff is always pleasant and accommodating. Our rooms are quite comfortable and nicely maintained, and the housekeeping staff reponds to whatever requests we might make in a timely and friendly fashion. The food is also excellent. We thoroughly enjoy the variety of the food offerings at the French Quarter Buffet, including the wonderful assortment of desserts. I particularly enjoy the wide variety of slot machines available to players and am partial to Wheel of Fortune. My experiences with the latter have always been exciting and often rewarding. I would recommend Showboat to any prospective visitor without reservation.

Request the Bourbon Tower which is totally renovated. I am told the other part of the hotel needs some updating. The amenities are great and the location is perfect. Easy access to the Taj Mahal and Resorts. The bars ad restaurants are priced well and the food was good. I do not gamble much so I cannot help with that part of the review. I have been to the Foundation Room which is a great place to have an intimate dinning experience with someone. The hotel is always clean and the staff is very accomodating.

I shopped around for different prices. The only problem with this site was that the price fluctuated daily!!!! I ended up paying way more my Tuesday Night then it was listed a few days before! ($83 more). We stayed three nights.

We were in the New Orleans Tower. It was beautiful, clean and well kept and laid out nicely. Check in was quick, we were early and our room was ready. Valet was quick on the way in/out with baggage claim holding our stuff for a few hours after check out. We took advantage of the shuttle to other Harrah properties a few times.

Cons: They need a better ventilation system as the smoking overtook the whole casino and you couldn't escape it, water pressure was really low, and they should clean the beach daily as it was really stinky with dead crabs and shells. Guest Services closed early along with many restaurants not open early week - the boardwalk had plenty of options. They do need more of a sit down family oriented place for breakfast open EVERY day!

My husband accidently left his insulin in the fridge in the room after we left and didn't notice until we were at home. I had a hard time getting Security Lost and Found to answer their phone or return calls (their voice mail said they would return my call within 48 hours who can wait that long if they lost something valuable?) I finally had the switchboard page a manager. Housekeeping found it and took it to Lost and Found and it was kept cold. Kudos to Andy Deangelo (sp) Security Manager who not only located the bag but took it to the mail room to overnight back to me. He returned my call twice to follow up. Kudos to Mike in the Mailroom for calling me immediately with my tracking number. What wonderful staff who went out of their way for me! They helped make a horrible situation much better. I would recommend Showboat to anybody and would return again!

We enjoyed the location on the boardwalk close to other casinos. The casino itself had great variety. Their daily free shows were exciting. The amenities provided while staying there were sub-optimal. We were not given the room we asked for because it was unavailable when we checked in. The sheets were stained and the bed was one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever had at a hotel, even compared to chain hotels like the holiday inn and hampton inn. We ate dinner at the house of blues restaurant and were not at all impressed by the service or the meal. All together we had a nice stay there but we're glad it was only for one night.

We went for a family vacation with a teenager. Nothing for the teen to do. Had to go Taj for the arcade. Swimming pool too shallow and overflowing with young children. I Location is at end of boardwalk, didn't realize it was so far from everything else. Next time will stay at a casino that is more cenerally located. If going as a couple ,it is great. going as a family not so great . The only thing I really wanted was an ocean view(it was my 25th anniversary) and the view I got was of a construction site
