Was here the first time by car and found the parking arrangement "tricky". The check-in was really bad. We were told they only had smoking rooms despite the fact that we had a reservation for non-smoking. After insisting we got a non-smoking room though, it is just annoying to go through this after a car travel and late at night. The room was in a surprisingly bad condition: holes in the wall, the wall paper looked really crappy and the spaces behind the bed and bedside table hadn't seen a vacuum in a long, long time. Also no liquid soaps in the bathroom at the first day. Elevator availability during check-in & check out time was really bad. I ended up walking down the stairways and made my way through a cloud of urine smell. Again no clearing here. However there were upsides too. The location is great: Good entertainment, excellent casino and a great location to explore the board walk. I didn't like the In-house food options, which have the charme of a "mall"-cafe. Great again the accessibility of bars, clubs and restaurants in the "Quarter". Whether you like it or not, there are lot of young people in the casino, but they were generally not too outrageous in their behaviour and provided some "live" to the hotel athmosphere. Also the room-service was nice and accommodating. Overall I'd say a decent deal for the money if you are fine with a subpar hotel room.

 Had a really great time; friends from other casinos/hotels came to Trop because there were so many things to do!!! There were always employees around to help out. Will definately return with even more friends!

There was a smell in the hallway when we got off of the elevator. I reported it and it was handled by the next time we came to the room. The the room was more than adequate, beds were comfortable but they need to redo the decor. Everything was striped, the walls, the window curtains and even the shower curtains. The bathroom could have used some towel racks or hooks.

We arrived at 2pm Friday and check in was a breeze. Our room was in the North Tower it was clean, updated and the king bed was comfortable ! No complaints at all...yes you can hear people as they pass in the hall as some other people have stated but that's going to happen no matter what hotel your in not much you can do but hope they are respectful of others.
Had a great time and will come back again !!

I upgraded to the Havana tower at an additional cost, but the room was average. I could hear conversations next door, my topsheet had a tear in it, and the bed was very uncomfortable. I can't imagine what the standard rooms were like.

We arrived for a 3pm check-in at 2pm. We were told that this was okay as check-in had already started. After a very long line we received our room assignment but were told we could not get the room key until 5:45pm. Now 3pm we had a 2 hour 45 minute wait with heavy bags. Nothing to do but go into the casino. Hours into playing slots a security person asked why we did not put the bags in the holding room. No one remembered to mention that we could. If we had a shopping cart we would have looked homeless. Finally time to go to the room. Check in slip listed West Tower. No such room number as ours. Took some time to find out that our ROOM key was for the Havana Towers. Never once got into our room without security assistance. The room key pass never worked even though they reissued a new one 5 times. Requested a lock smith who NEVER came. Requested a room change but I had a smoking room & the hotel only has a total of 10 of them.
It is fun to play at Tropicana but if you plan to stay overnight & cannot get into your room what is the point

We used to stay at the Trop all the time, it was always beautiful and alive with energy....the energy has died. Some employees told us that they laid off so many people and all the quality has gone down. Our room was unlivable and whe I complained about the feces stain on the bed they told me I had to pay for an upgrade!!! When the maid came in she put the new bedding on the floor while she got something else from her cart....bathroom stall in the casino had a peephole, luckily my friend was next to me!!! I was disappointed and disgusted!!! Never got my free breakfast i paid for either!!!

when we want to go away and not take a plane, the trop is just right. we can play,eat,dance,gamble and never leave the hotel. the atmosphere is happy and just makes you wecome with the soul of another country. you don't need a passport to be transported. the fact theat we are always lucky at the trop is a great plus. the rooms the service and yes the cigar store , all make it our favoite hotel in atlantic city. we are planning another trip soon. can't wait.

I arrived there on a Wednesday night around 8:30pm and the Quarter Inn check in was closed, so me and my my lady had to walk far across to the south tower for check in. Then when we were given a room, it was in the south tower but they only gave us a smoking room 2 double beds when we asked for 1 king size bed smoking. We called the front and no one picked up. Finally I decided to call the hotel service manager and he was extremely kind and accomodating.
We were given a havana tower 1 king size room smoking and it was on the top floor which was amazing!!!!
So it started off pretty bad but turned out great. Tango's was nice and the casino was pretty crowded for a Wed night. It took forever to find a waitress, I think they all were on strike or something.. Carmine's was beautiful!! you have got to go there and also check out the shops, they're really nice and when you check in,they give you a discount book which has great coupons.
