Our stay in Atlantic City was not what we expected and Bally's was quite rundown. It appears as though Harrah's Gaming Corporation puts more money into Harrah's than it does into updating or maintaining all of the casinos it acquired. This was our first visit to AC but frequent Vegas and our local Casino's. The majority of slots required three coins to play in all denominations ranging from $ .25 up. Machines in the $5 and up range were 2 coins. Payouts were deplorable. We went to all of the Casinos and the payouts were the same (very, very poor). Homeless people wandered in and out of the Casinos all night long, begging for money. At times it felt as if we were not in a safe environment. The Casinos should put more money into maintaining the Boardwalk and make it into an attraction . It appears as though the Gaming Corporations are only interested in making money and not providing an enjoyable stay for their customers. The comps at Bally's as with all other Harrah owned properties are terrible. We stayed for 3days /2 nights and spent over $1,000 at Bally's, we each received $5 towards food and that was all. The food was very expensive, especially in the Hotel owned snack shops etc. 2 cups of coffee and two muffins came to $14, the buffet was priced well and the food was excellent. All in all Atlantic city was the worst Gaming experience that we have had and we will not come back nor would we advise anyone else to go to Atlantic city. The Casino/Hotels should wise up and make this experience one that is enjoyable and instead of taking, start to give back some to it's customers.
