Great location and restaurants/bars, terrible customer service, August 25, 2009

We arrived at the hotel on Sunday at 1pm, and waited in line for about 45 mins to check-in, and were told to come back at 3pm to see if our room was ready. We thought that our wait in line to check-in was bad, but we were lucky - by the time we were done checking in, the line was at least 10 times as long. Certainly the wait had to be over 2 hours at this stage, and there were only 2 people working at the reception. I would never stay in this hotel again, for fear of having to wait that long to check in. What a terrible way to have to start your vacation! The check-in, and wait to get to your room takes up a huge chunk of your day. This is not acceptable! They really need to get their act together. Also, many of the staff we encountered on our stay were not helpful or friendly in the least (with the exception of the very nice lady who checked us in). In short, if the hotel was better managed, it would be a great place to stay. Lots to do on site & a great location.
