Considering that this casino hotel was rated a 4 out of a possible 5 on the achotels website (the same rating given to Trump Plaza, the Tropicana and the Hilton), I expected it to be comparable. It wasn't. (In my opinion, it ranks well below the 3-out-of-5 rated Atlantic Palace/Royal Suites/FantaSea/Blue Green, or whatever they're calling it these days.) While the room had an ocean view, this Ocean Tower room was tired and worn. Although it had a small refrigerator, it had no hair dryer. There was a large closet with a small clothes rack, but no safe. The water pressure was great, but the rust on the ceiling grids and the missing tile at one end of the tub were more obvious. The pedestal sink with no shelf space around it could be, perhaps, comfortable for one, and that's exactly how many sets of towels were initially supplied (but supplemented when I asked for more). The carpeting had a number of spots on it, and there was a large noticeable stain on what might have been a comfortable armchair. (I don't know if it was comfortable, because the stain made it unappealing to sit in.) The toilet was rather institutional, without a tank and the type of flush handle found in the casino restroom urinals and toilets. Three pictures above the headboard were resting on a shelf, secured in place (and to each other) with large blobs of silicone caulk. It just looked thrown together. The bed was hard, actually too hard to get a restful night's sleep (in all fairness, this is not unique to this room, but comparable to several other AC hotels).
I reserved a room and that's what I got. No more and no less.
